The word "gastrology" is a combination of two Greek terms: "gaster" (γαστήρ) and "logos" (λόγος).
"Gaster" translates to "stomach" or "belly" and is the root word for terms related to the stomach or digestive system. It has its origins in the Ancient Greek language.
"Logos" refers to "study", "knowledge", or "science". It is a widely used suffix in many fields of study and has Greek origins as well.
